Ground Track (2D)

Equirectangular world map for satellite tracking: SGP4 ground tracks, coverage footprints, a live day/night terminator, pass time-ticks, ground stations, and a lat/lng graticule over a satellite basemap. Pure SVG.

Installation

Copy and paste the following code into your project.

npx plexus-ui add ground-track-2d

Manual Installation

1. Copy the component code from components/ground-track-2d.tsx

2. Install dependencies:

npm install react@latest

3. Copy any required primitive components

Examples

Live Tracking Map

SGP4 ground tracks over a satellite basemap with coverage footprints, a live day/night terminator, pass time-ticks (UTC), ground stations, and a lat/lng graticule.

Tracks Only

The same map with the day/night terminator and time-ticks turned off — just ground tracks, footprints, and markers.

GroundTrack2D

Prop	Type	Default	Description
satellites	GroundTrack2DSatellite[]	[]	Satellites to track (TLE per object). Each may toggle its track/footprint.
groundStations	GroundStation2D[]	[]	Fixed station markers ({ id, lat, lng, color?, label? }).
mapImageUrl	string	undefined	Equirectangular (2:1) basemap image. Omit for a plain dark map.
showGraticule	boolean	true	Draw the lat/lng grid.
showTerminator	boolean	true	Shade the night side with a live day/night terminator.
showTimeTicks	boolean	true	Draw HH:MM (UTC) time-ticks along each ground track.
trackDurationMin	number	100	Total track length in minutes, centred on the current time.
updateIntervalMs	number	1000	Live recompute interval. Ignored when epochOverride is set.
epochOverride	number	undefined	Freeze the map at this epoch (ms). Omit for live tracking.
